Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
